US 11 Antique Alley & Yard Sale Celebrates 25 Years February 10, 2023 MERIDIAN, MISSISSIPPI - East Mississippi and West Alabama are celebrating their 21st year of participating in the US 11 Antique Alley & Yard Sale, which celebrates its 25th year in 2023. So let's get ready to treasure hunt along the back roads from May 18 – 21, 2023, for our annual yard sale, which includes thousands of vendors and over 30,000 plus attendees. Follow the scenic route along historic US Highway 11 from Meridian, Mississippi, to Bristol, Virginia, for more than 500 miles of yard sales and antique shopping! Explore charming landmark communities and area downtown districts through East Mississippi and West Alabama as you begin the stretch of five states. The annual sale began 25 years ago, with the East Mississippi and West Alabama area joining four years later. We invite you to celebrate our 21st year as part of this event by doing what you do best - travel the scenic highways of the deep South, shop for treasures, eat delicious local food, enjoy the ultimate southern hospitality, and meet new people. This year's event is on track to be the biggest and best so far by bringing increased tourism, community economic growth, local education, historical elements, and a family-friendly festival-style event to East Mississippi and West Alabama. "When asked to take it on 21 years ago", states local coordinator Teresa Westbrook, "it was an exciting challenge and true leap of faith, but also being an avid "junker," I happily excepted the adventure. While the last few years of the sale have been a struggle to keep it going, I pray that our locals and community will jump on board to help us keep it going and growing." The MS & AL Antique Alley team, is currently excepting sponsorships and donations to help put on this annual event. All local and surrounding area businesses, such as hotels, restaurants, event venue spaces, antique shops, museums, community-style businesses, convenience stores, and corporate companies, as well as local individuals, are encouraged to become sponsors. Sponsorships help cover costs, contribute to overall success, and continue planning for future years. The plan for 2023 is to have more designated areas along Highway US 11 & 80 that provide the ultimate shopping experiences for folks visiting.
